Brief mosaic course

Mosaic art at your fingertips! Thanks to the mosaic artist ∙PETTIGIꙨ∙ you will be able first hand to see, touch and try the precious art of mosaic. The Experience includes a first introductory part, where you will know the processing technique and you will see masterpieces of art history made in mosaic. Then you will have the opportunity to create a real little mosaic with glass paste and natural stones, to take home at the end of the workshop.

Giorgia Pettinari

Giorgia Pettinari, known as ∙PETTIGIꙨ∙ attracted by the world of art enrolled at the Accademia di Belle Arti in Ravenna where she measures herself with the different artistic forms, maturing a specific interest in the mosaic works. She attends workshops in ateliers of mosaic artists to experiment in this field, including the Centro Aletti in Rome and the Laboratorio Mosaico Mondaino. The academic experience and life in the lively cultural context of Ravenna allow her to weave a dense network of relations with artists of national importance, both Italian and non, with valid curators. She participated in various educational experiences and projects. Attracted by the relationship between art and faith, she attends iconography workshops and deals with sacred art projects for churches and private individuals, in a continuous confrontation between mosaic and architecture. Her works have been exhibited in Padova, Spilimbergo, Ravenna, Cervia, Cesena, Faenza, Matelica, Senigallia, Ancona and Bari. In 2013 with the work Aura, selected for the National Prize of Arts, she begins a series of works related to the phenomenon of light. She created in 2019 her first major urban art project: a site-specific installation for the city of Ravenna entitled “L’eco del fiume”, in collaboration with the municipality and Casa Circondariale of Ravenna . Since 2021 she has opened Portico Spazio d’Arte in Matelica, in which she exhibits works of art and promotes workshops and experiences. She carries on her artistic research in a continuous confrontation with differents arts.
